We had a last minute trip when Kil Song called Capt John and decided they wanted to run for large bluefin on a jig only trip. Alex and I took on the task of rigging up all of our top end jigging equipment on the Hooked Up II to be ready to do battle with these big fish.
We arrived at the fishing grounds and had the first fish in the boat within and hour of setting up on our first drift. The fish taped out at 66" and was immediately bled, gutted and loaded with ice to ensure premium quality meat.
We continued to hook multiple fish on every drift. With a total of 7 large bluefins coming to the boat for a clean release. Not one bluefin landed was under 60" or 150#.
We also have some excelent still shots and video that I will post as soon as Dan and Kil get them to me.
