Holden Beach Kingfish 4-26

We made another commercial kingfish trip on Saturday. It started out rather slow, so we decided to head east of the tower around lunch time. While running, I marked a little bit of bait on the bottom machine and turned around on it. When I came back across it, the screen lit up showing one of the most beautiful live bottoms that I have saw in a long time. We put the drone spoons back out and proceeded to put 35 kings in the box in the next 45 minutes. After that, it died out, but we were still able to keep picking at them a little bit. Final tally for the day was 45 kings. We have a bluewater charter on Wednesday, so I'll post a report on Wed. night. On another note, Ocean Crest pier on Oak Island is reporting that they have been catching a few kings off of the pier since last thursday, as well as Spanish since Saturday. It is only a matter of days before we have our early run of big kings from 25-50+ lbs. right on the beach. I'll let everyone know when they show up.

I was out there east of the tower on Saturday too. Got into a few grouper, pinkys, kings and AJ's. a perfect day to be out on the water.
