    Holden Beach Fishing Report 8-21-09

On Wednesday, we started the day catching bait just west of Lockwood Folly Inlet, then headed to Frying Pan Tower to try and catch an African Pompano. No love. They seem to have disappeared. We then headed to the Southwest to bottom fish. We had a few silver snapper, b-liners, bass and triggerfish. It was not the best day I've had by a long shot, but the weather was perfect, and the water was so clear, we could see bottom in 80 ft. On thursday, we started the trip Spanish Mackerel fishing, and burnt them up for a little while, then headed Shark Fishing, finding much slower fishing, but we did release one small hammerhead. Due to Hurricane Bill, I'm off the water until Monday, when we are going to try to find some king mackerel and mahi-mahi.

Sounds good! Better than a day driving with three kids under seven four 12 hours for sure!

    Thanks for the report!
