Today I went commercial king mackerel fishing with my good friend Capt. Ryan Williams. We went straight to the tower, and as soon as the drone spoons hit the water, we had a double header. We had a pretty steady pick of 4-10 lb. mackerel for the rest of the day. The grand total was 78 fish, and 478 lbs. As long as the water stays over 64 degrees, the excellent king fishing will continue. Most folks think the king fishing is over by thanksgiving, but it is just getting good. As far as numbers go, our best fishing is late fall/early winter, and then again in early to mid spring. Tired of cabin fever? Give us a call, we have the perfect cure. I'm hoping to make at least one more trip before Christmas, but if not, I'll be back at it right after. I'll keep everyone informed as to what is happening.
