I think Admin is going to let me have this space
Was hanging and locking on me a couple days ago... Thought it was my machine... I unloaded a bunch of useless programs and did some sweeps... Had a lot of "deflected spywares' etc in my machine... Corrupt AOL program also had me hanging... Went to dump it and ofund I had like six versions of Aol in my dell? Seems to be better today though...

DON'T FORCE ME TO SHUT THE COMPUTER DOWN....DISASSEMBLE IT AND HAULO IT TO BEST BUY GEEK SQUAD...PALEEEESE GUYS...
SOMEONE HAS AN ANSWER TO THIS
THIS MORNING WHEN I TURNED THE ANIMAL ON....THE SCREEN RESOLUTION HAD CHANGED ON ITS OWN.....MEANING A HIGHER RESOLUTION (1680) ESTABLISHED THIS SETTING BY ITSELF....
MY PRINT IS NOW VERY SMALL....A PAGE ON SFC ONLY COVERS HALF OF MY DISPLAY SCREEN.......I GO AND CHANGE IT UNDER MY DISPLAY SETTINGS AND IT WILL NOT STAY IN LARGER PRINT FOR ME....
MY SCREEN EVEN FROZE UP TODAY WHILE IN THIS HIGH RESOLUTION SETTING

Box
I am not sure what your exact problem is
I have a family member that does Computer repairs on PC'S
and he preaches to keep the following programs running in the back ground and the best part is there free
AVG
SPYBOT
ADWARE
I will pm you the direct links if you chose to put them on the machine

Marty,
It definitely sounds like you have a virus or a serious spyware problem.
Go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and do the free scan. It will take a while but I have found it to be the most thorough scan out there. It has found and repaired stuff my Norton has missed.
After it figures out the issue I would make sure your virus software is up to date AND download yahoo's free spyware scan. It is lightning fast and works like a charm.
Hope that helps.

If you already have a virus software you pay for Box, is it about to expire? I have found the last two times my software was about to expire, I would get a virus and it would cause some weird problems. Just something to look into.

Marty,
What anti virus are you using? I switched to AVG and it has been the best thing I have ever done with the new computer. It doesn't bog down the computer with unnecessary crap. You might want to clear your history out and get rid of some of the cookies on your computer. The AVG will tell you when your computer programs are tying to connect with a server as well. You would be surprised how many of your programs try to connect with the home server without you even knowing it. I would bet money that you have some spy ware that is slowing you down..... Mark

AVG
At my office everyone uses a computer and the guys we have to work on them all use AVG on there personal computers. When the geeks use it it must be pretty good. Another vote for AVG and use the scan.
