I would recommend Rupp Z-30 Top Guns for ease of use and quality.

They can be rotated out from below with a turn of a handle. I would go with fixed poles instead of telescoping. They are stiffer and require less work to deploy.

    More information:

I would rig it with a single rigging kit with Rupp Zip Clips. Simple and inexpensive.

It is my opinion that the hard top on your pursuit will be sufficiently strong enough to support this setup.

I'm reviving this thread as I had put some Tigress Top mounts on my 22' Pursuit a year and a half ago and they work like
$#!T! The mounts won't hold to the set position when deployed and the poles bang together when dropped back and down. Now, in the "rigging of my own plate/spacer" as the T-Top canvas and plate were not flush and I needed to make up
1/2" to the canvas. So I added 2 1/4" 4"X8" aluminum plates one on top of the other to make up the space between and also created a solid mounting surface. Of course, never drilling through 1/4" aluminum plates with a 3" holesaw was a blast but persitance prevailed through all 4 plates. Not to mention the T-Top plate. So I ask, Which Top Mount outrigger is suggested for this app? I do like the recommendation from Alltackle on the Rupp Z-30's.

And, No, I don't remember having beans that day!

A friend of mine has a set of Tasco's on the top of his express style boat. He leaves the poses in the cabin and installs them when he stops to fish. They were putting to much pressure on the top when running. This past summer he never used them because it was too much trouble in choppy seas. Plus being short he had a hard time reaching them when they were in. The boat I fish on mostly is a 25 Parker and it has side outriggers. Much easier to deploy and easier to fish with.

I had a boat very similar to yours and ended up getting rid of top-mounted riggers and going with the kind that are mounted in the gunnel. linked here: http://www.leetackle.com/gunnel.html

I went with the larger diameter as well.

Did they look as cool? No, but...

They fished 2' longer (a big deal on 18' outriggers).
They didn't stress the top (most factory tops aren't up to the task).
And I can't think of a time when they really inhibited fish-fighting ability, as we fought 99% of fish from the stern.

Also, i was able to use the same poles when i made the switch and sold my old bases on e-bay, to make the entire process pretty cheap.

    Good luck in your search.

Thanks for the advice/replies. I love the top mounts but perhaps practicality wins...but then...

I have a 23' feet mako and I had an aluminium built soft ttop I really don't know if it can hold a pair of top mounted out riggers but I don't like the idea of having the side mounted outriggers with all the lines from the rods hanging around the boat. Also do they hold spreader bars? What about clamp on outriggers from tigress are they any good?

WELL ....I FEEL TOP MOUNTED RIGGERS LOSE AT LEAST A 18" OR MORE of SPREAD DISTANCE PER RIGGER VERSUS GUNNEL MOUNTS.....AND GUNNEL MOUNTS HAVE THE BETTER ANGLE TO THE WATER....AND MOST OF THE RIGGERS I SEE MOUNTED ON A T-TOP ARE PARALLEL TO THE WATER WHICH MAKES NO SENSE TO ME (THIS PLACES WAY TOO MUCH MAINLINE IN THE WATER IMO)

ONE OTHER NEGATIVE I SEE TO T-TOP MOUNTS IS THE STOWING OF THE HALYARDS....AND THE "ANCHOR POINT" OF SAID HALYARD WHEN IT COMES TIME FOR LINES IN....I WOULD DIE A SLOW DEATH IF I HAD TO FISH A RIGGER CLIP THAT WAS ATTACHED TO AN OVERHEAD T-TOP FRAME!

I EVEN CONSIDER MY WISHBONE MOUNTED RIGGERS ON MY GW23TO BE TOO SHORT (THEY CAME WITH THE BOAT)...THEY ARE TOO FLIMSY AND ONLY 15 FT.....I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A SET OF QUALITY 21 FOOT SINGLE SPREADERS....BUT I COP OUT BUYING THEM AND SPEND MY EXTRA MONEY ON FUEL AND BAIT....MAYBE THIS YEAR I CAN FIND ME A 2" SET THAT WILL FIT MY WISHBONES

WITHOUT A DOUBT THIS WILL INCREASE MY PRODUCTIVITY ON THE "WILD GOOSE"

My outriggers handled spreaders just fine, but, they are Fred Archer bars and with limited experience with others, Fred's are light weight and run well. I run 1 1/2" 15' telesoping poles.

I see your point in gaining the 18" but I don't run my riggers parrallel. That makes little to no sense either.I WOULD DIE A SLOW DEATH IF I HAD TO FISH A RIGGER CLIP THAT WAS ATTACHED TO AN OVERHEAD T-TOP FRAME! LMAO

Those Z-30's aren't too cheaply priced!
The "posi loc" ring is to prevent the deployed mount from swinging back in?
