Smile HELLO SHIMANO ...PAY ATTENTION PLEASE

    TOPIC:
THE CLICKER BUTTON ON TLD 25'S ETC AND THE NEWER TYRNOS REELS...30 TWO SPEED'S

THE HORROR. PLAIN AND SIMPLE THE SHIMANO CLICKER BUTTON IS THE ANTI-THRICE HORROR OF BILLFISHING.

I ASK YOU SHIMANO.....HAVE YOU ACTUALLY USED ONE IN THE HEAT OF BATTLE? IN THE HEAT OF THE MOMENT WHEN IT COUNTS THE MOST? A MAN NEEDS TO BEAT THE FISH TO THE ROD ....AND IN MY CASE BEING A CHARTER BOAT...I NEED TO FISH THE CLICKER ON WITH NO DRAG......AND WHEN I GO FOR THE ROD WITH A DIRTY WHITE BOY PILING IN.....THE CLICKER IS ...IMO....RIDICULOUSLY HARD TO SLIDE DOWN TO "NO CLICK"

MAYBE YOU ARE TRYING TO PAY US BACK FOR HIROSHIMA BY INSTALLING THIS DANG CLICKER BUTTON ...I DON'T KNOW...IF YOU ARE, THEN WE HAVE MORE OF THEM.

BY FAR BEST REEL ON THE MARKET BUT THE CLICKER BUTTON IS A SAD FLOP.....

H-E-L-L-O THERE!! BEEF THE THING UP PLEASE!!!....MAKE IT SO WHEN YOU TOUCH IT YOU ACTUALLY FEEL SOMETHING THERE!!! AND MAKE IT SO IT WILL SLIDE DOWN FREELY !!! IMAGINE A DIRTY WHITE BOY TAILING A BAIT IN THE WMO....2 MILL' AT STAKE....AND YOU BECOME ALL THUMBS TRYING TO SLIDE THAT BUTTON DOWN TO FREE SPOOL??? SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE A WHITE GAINS 5 LBS WHILE I AM DOING THIS...

I AM NOW GOING TO MODIFY MINE SO NOT TO LOSE THE NEXT FISH BY FUMBLING WITH THE WELL HIDDEN HARD TO SLIDE BUTTON....

IT ONLY TAKES A SPLIT SECOND AND HE IS GONE FOREVER....WITH MY WMO MONEY

THE PART IS A 2 CENT PART DUH UH....I MEAN COME ON GUYS...

KEEP IN MIND THAT I DRIVE A BEAT UP PICKUP TRUCK HAVE SPENT A SMALL FORTUNE ON SHIMANO REELS. I STILL LOVE YA AND WILL CONTINUE KILLING FISH WITH SHIMANO

I hear you Marty. If you don't like the TLD clickers, try the Tekota 600 clickers, they are even worse. It takes 2 men and a boy, a bar of soap, and a running start to turn one of those off.
I guess the Tekato is payback for Nagasaki.

I bought 4 tekota 500's for chunking bass in the Del Bay and fish them no drag w/ clicker on. You damn near rip off a fingernail trying to get freespool. I am now looking for new 30's and was set 2 spd Tyrnos, but I can't deal w/ this clicker issue anymore. Box, how do you plan to modify the clicker?

Try a Trinidad TN16 you will need a cold chisel and a lump hammer.

Excellent point box, I could not agree more as it relates to the TLD's! Great reel but the clicker can be very frustrating!

I own 4 tld 25s, and all have been sent back to the factory in the past 2 years to have...THE CLICKER repaired.

The last time, it cost me a very nice fish. The whole damn reel seized up.

These reels used to be bulletproof, but something has changed.

I am seriously considering switching to diawas, which is what I used without failure in the past.

Yep missed my first white back in the 80's because of the same gripe! It does need some more R&D IMO. While they are at it, sure would be nice to see them with the nekton grips as well.
