It is with a heavy heart

that I share this with you.
As some of you know, this is the weekend for the Capt. Eddy Hanemen Sailfish Tournament in Wrightsville Beach NC.
Sometime about 5 PM today, Mrs. Mary Hanemen passed on to join her husband Capt. Eddy. She has been a great supporter of the tournament for the last 10 years, donating rods that Capt Eddy made, and flags that she made for his boat along with other things that she could fine for us to auction off, but this year, she and Capt. Eddy will look down on us and watch what is going on and smile as neither knew that they would touch so many.

To a wonderful gracious lady, we will miss you. God bless you and give Capt. Eddy a hug for us all. RIP...

Oh man, another piece of Cape Fear history gone but.... I imagine that the old captain was ready to be reunited with his life's mate.
    May God bless.

Shall the tournament be a celebration that two amazing people are reunited in a kingdom with joy far beyond what we can imagine.

Great tournament Lee. I know lots of folks were saddened by the news but how fitting that we pause to remember both of these fine people and their influence on the southern NC coast.
