Hatteras in March on Still Think'n

Nothing beats Hatteras in March and this trip was no exception...It was unusually calm for this time of year out of Hatteras which made the run exceptionally enjoyable. Couple calm seas, good friends and warm temps and it made for a great weekend.

We fished on Saturday and had a hard time finding em, but we found em up at the 480 line in about 200 fathoms...there were alot of boats jigging that were hooked up but we trolled up our fish that we kept. Went 60 inches and went 150 pounds at the scales in Hatteras Harbor....

Getting ready to sear some BFT and eat some Sushi BFT belly with it....Glad Spring is finally in the air...feels good !....Bob

Hey Bobby...we had 4 bites, all BFT and this is the first one we had....The Jiggers were all hooked up....I personally like the sound of the outriggers snapping and the scream of the reel....but looking at how productive jigging is, I might have to pick me up one of them there jigging outfits !...

How was the winter bigte in palm beach ? My buddies that live down there said it was a cold and rough winter....Bob

Cold and rough is a good description. The bite was sick we caught almost two hundred sails out of Palm beach trolling in 10 weeks. The bite was sick. We had multiple 30 bite days. Did you have all your bites on Ballyhoo? On the surface or planner bites?

we had all our bites on the long riggers...Pink/white or Blue/white sea witches...I did have a planer down deep with a Pink Sea witch and large Hoo but it didn't get touched that day...

I heard the sails were thick this year...congrats on a great season man...you did good....

I'll probably be back there in May to see my parents and spend a few days out fishing for I'm thinking Mahi...we'll see what's biting then....Bob

The tunas will be over on the corner its a 60 mile run, if you find the bird it wont take long to sink the boat with them.
