A wonderful week again in Harker's Island with Jim, Nick M., Nick P., Kenny, Matt and newcomer Mark (Kenny's brother). The weather gave little but we took whatever it allowed. Early in the week was dominated by albies and spanish mackerel.
Nice Albacore
Big Spanish
Monday ended with dinner on the water at Calico Jack's with Marty, Jane and a couple of visitors from Maryland.
Tuesday and Wednesday were dominated by some inshore slow trolling off Atlantic Beach and Northwest Places and more casting while witnessing the constant death of baitfish at Lookout Bight.
SeaBiscuit in action
Thursday was the first day offshore on the Run-Off. Captain Brian and John wanted us there bright and early.
Mark's 1st Wahoo
The day's take.
Friday began with capturing some pogies and when the bait went out a gentlemen's wager was issued by SeaBiscuit (Nick M., Kenny, Mark) to the Slip Slid'n (Nick P. Matt, Jim). The stakes were high, the boat with the largest fish could sit back and drink a few beers while the losers cooked dinner. Most of the day was spent listening to the continuous trash talk from SeaBiscuit as they had a 20 lb king in the box. At 3 p.m., Slip Slid'n decided that they would rather watch dinner being prepared and hit the beach in search of a fish that would defeat SeaBiscuit. Slip ended up with three fish that beat a 20 lb king.
Nice fish Matt, The boys in Southport probably wanted this fish Friday
We're all back in Wilmington now but we will be back.
Pogey's Dad
This is one cause of a slick on the water
