My dad just sent me a description of his day yesterday in the Bahamas. Thought I would share it.
Harry has been keeping his boat in the water and got a call from the local PD to assist in a "situation" and wanted to know if he could take them out on his boat to investigate the "situation". While we prepped the boat for take off. The Gregorytown DEA rolls up. Two guys get out in plainclothes, and proceed to load their
weapons. OOKAAY whats up with this. Another dude comes squealin in and throws a shotgun on board. They talk a little about a sloop about a mile out and away they go. About a half hour later they come zoomin back to the dock, with everybody accounted for and no apparent bullet holes in the boat. Handshakes are given and away they go. Harry, who we now consider a Special Agent, saunters up to his house, we are all freakin. WHAAT THE WAS THAT ALL ABOUT!! Apparently they got a tip about a Haitian sloop loaded with 80 kilos and they had no boat to intercept. Anyway while in route they saw a skiff heading back to the dock away from the sloop. The Gregorytown PD called the skiff to halt. After questioning the local boys. It was determined that the sloop was an American couple out for a leisurely cruise. The local boys told the cops the Haitian sloop had slipped away. Apparently that was good enough and no other pursuit was needed. The funny thing is when the local boys returned to the dock they were jumpin up and down and high fiven each other. Can't remember the last time the local police in the U.S. called me to assist in a "situation".
