    Greetings. Is alconite what JB uses in his Custom rods? If it is, he handed around one of those guides and file when he came to speak at the club meeting. My buddy Randy worked on that thing for several minutes with that file and never scratched it.

    Jim, I am pretty sure those are the guides. I have heard the same thing from my brother SHUNT who builds rods.

    No decals...it's done with epoxy colored with paint pigments.

    Paul, I doubt I'll ever even lay eyes on those Cermet guides.

    its marbling..its a shame you arent closer..i gave a demo last year on how to do that..But it takes time and practice to do it like scott
