If you run something down at the BBT or lower bay I can tow to it and take 2or 3. I'll stay tuned.Chances are with all the talent here@SFC it could end up as a Wounded Warrior series as long as everybody wins!

Ok I made contact today based on doing 1 event here in the Norfolk area. Date is to be determined. Maybe the summer bay bite or the winter Rockfish. After talking to several members here who have experiance at doing this type of stuff I have decided to stick with 1 event for now.

If you guys not in the Va. area want to still do an event or just give up a day to take some guys fishing that would be great to. I am still going to contact Barta about trying do do something in conjunction with his tournament. Does any body have Cynthia's email address?

So that is where I am right now. I will advise when I hear back from them.

    Got this mail back tonight.

Are ya gonna have a meal at the end of the day? the ruritans, vfw's, foreign legions and such all love to put on big meals and such. The more groups you get behind you the easier your Job will be...like lining up the boats and skippers. Have a bunch of good right hand mans that will stick thru everything with ya and stay flexible.

Your activity is an important part of their recovery, it gets them back out with the civilian population instead of cowering back into a bed at the hospital. It shows them that they can be normal and do things they onced loved to do, like fishing, they may just have to do things a little differently. It shows them that there are people truly concerned about them and willing to take that extra step to insure that they have not been forgotten or brushed aside by society. I promise you that you'll be blubbering like a little girl at the end of the day after performing this small act of humanity for our hero's that have suffered and gave so much.

One young man who had been blown up in an IAD attack was suffering from injuries to his brain, affecting both his long and short term memory. He was from a catfishing family in Ohio and stayed in contact with his wife most of the day by cell phone. Later on he did catch a nice 40 some pound blue cat and he was able to share the picture over the cell phone with his wife,,then shortly afterwards his brothers and dad was calling him congratulating him on his big catch,,,he was giving hell saying "here I'm all blown up and I caught a bigger catfish than any of you" Later he told his skipper that he never wanted to forget this day--while worried about his memory losses--in tears.....what can you say or do with a statement like that.

    I'll participate if I can

This is one of the only groups my wife and I donate to since the wars have started. The other is for the children of those killed in action. For now, they have priority over all other charity organizations for us.
I'll participate in this event if I can do it schedule wise. I'd prefer to do it in the summer time. My boat is a 31 contender fisharound, probably take 2 plus me and a mate comfortably. I could squezze another person on if I had too. Located in VB.
I argree with Lucian, inshore might be better if these guys/gals have been injured. If it's in July, I'd probably take them live bait fishing for cobias, kings and sharks somewhere off the beach.

Thumbs up I know we can get boats and crews out of Ocean City MD

Keep us posted !!! I agree, set the date and let each area get as many boats together as possible. I suggest set a date early and we can start planning as soon as possible !!!!!!!! Maybe get companies to sponsor the fuel and bait !!!!!!!!
