Great Doctors Visit Today!!!

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers!

Karen had a great doctors visit giving her the thumbs up on starting back running, riding her horse and other activities! He also informed her on some of what went on and what to expect with the few side effects still troubling her. Karen's appetite and taste buds are jacked (fresh strawberries are still to spicy). Xrays showed one lung 90% fluid and second around 25%, the heart murmur they were concerned with has cleared and blood work is at the lab checking her liver again. She dropped 13 lbs and this was within two weeks of her running a half marathon so weight loss was not part of the plan. Over a million was spent on her 6 day visit and the origin of the infection is still unknown.

That being said, I met with the guys last night planning our OCT. PC TRIP and one of them is being treated and recovering from high fever and pneumonia. He refused to be hospitalized and has worked closely with doctors so he could care for his children. The twist is the only connection he and Karen have is the water at Jockey's Ridge. They arrived in the Nags Head area the same Sunday we departed and wasn't aware of the high levels of bacteria in waters until I sent him the link in an email this past Sunday. I didn't know he was sick until last night. Wishing the doctors were able to get culture to nail this one down. We may never know the cause.

Life is feeling a little more normal and thanks to all the family and friends for helping when we really needed it!
