Glad you liked it Marty. Hey, I talked to wantdemreds a while back about getting together this spring for some Red/Cobia fishing... I miss his reports.
Wow Nick, you nailed this one out of the park. Today after we got in I went to the waterfront on the other side to see and talk to Capt. Shane and Rick to see how they did even though I talked to them on the radio. Guess I needed to unwind and get the salt out of my ears and seeing the forecast may not let us make another trip out to chase the "gray ghosts" guess it is my feeble way of extending the season a little longer...hating to see another one come to an end. As Shane and I were talking he told me that he had trouble sleeping the night before a Blue fin trip. I got very tickled when he said that and it made me think of all the times that I could not sleep before a trip...like when we were heading out for a 5 day Grouper / Snapper trip and not being able to sleep the first 2 days because I did not want to miss the best of the Beeliner bite, or during the Mullet run with the thought of doing a beach haul and the 2" webbing is full or what is in the net is to big to gill in the 2" and as you are pulling with the surf the non gilled fish would hit your ankles so hard you would fall down, get up laughing and lift the net to keep them from going over the floats. Oh to be young again and still do that. Sometimes I feel that it should be a requirement for the youth to have to do...an ever lasting memory to be looked back on and cherished always.
Now that I'm in my mid 50's I find that sleeping the night is a little easer but there are still those restless nights where the anticipation of the moonless night and misty morning will keep my mind from shutting down and my eyes from closing.
Written like a true Ole Salt Captain Lee. Great thread Biscoto. I hope my kids have the same privilege. Thank you to all the professional captains who do it day in and day out and teach us wanna be's along the way.
"... get the salt out of my ears..."
CLASSIC! .. and like the title of the thread: Gotta love it!
