Anyone here know of a good marine surveyor in the Eastern NC area?
John,
Let me see if I can find the guy that did my survey in Wrightsville Beach. I believe he worked for an insurance company as well and was highly, highly regarded in the area.
www.marinesurvey.org Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors website.
Where at in NC? I cover Oregon inlet.
John, I have used Bernie Szetela MBT Marine 252-240-6455 here in Morehead for years. Does a good job.
I used Bernie Szetela, at Town creek marina in beaufort N.C., and he did a poor job in my opinion. He failed to document all the corrosion on the engine and components in my boat, even when the port engine was sitting on a pallet. He could have taken pictures, and told me of all the extensive hidden corrosion on this engine but he failed to do so.
It cost me over $30k and more stress than I can tell you about.
If it were me I would use someone else. I think Bernie is a surveyor from a survey group that is defunct. I would certainly ask to see if he carries liability insurance.
WHAT DOES SPORTFISHERMEN NEED TO DO FOR YOU LEMONHEAD? GIVE YOU A REACH AROUND?? GIVE THE WORLD A BREAK WILL YA?
THE GUY ASKED FOR A GOOD SURVEYOR...YOU OBVIOUSLY DON'T KNOW ONE ....SO WHY CONTINUE TO BRING NEGATIVITY TO OUR GREAT SITE AS YOU HAVE FOR MANY MANY WEEKS?
YOU ACTUALLY DUG INTO SFC ARCHIVES TO DIG THIS THREAD UP TO WHINE SOME MORE....AMAZING....
Yeah!!!!! What he said!!!
I also have used Bernie as a buyer and a seller. He is a fair and honest guy, and was timely in all my dealings with him.
Wahoojack, well in my opinion Bernie did a very poor job and seemed to turn a blind eye to problems a competent surveyor would have seen.
He is also not a member of any of the current SAMS or NAMS survey groups, but is a member of a DEFUNCT group. What does this say?![]()
