Going under the knife next Friday
Box and friends for those of you that may not know I will be down for a while as I am going to have to go under the knife because at the young age of 42 I am going to have to have hip replacement surgery. Doc said from years of heavy weight lifting when I was younger and some bad genetics are the reason. I have delt with this for several years and now the injections are no longer working. I figured if I was going to be back in time for some of the yft run I better do it now, he asked why now I said because 6-8 weeks will get me back in time to get on some yft. The doc just looked at me like was kidding I looked at him and said nope I am very serious I have my priorities right hahaha. So I am just ready to get it over with and get back to living a better life without the pain and fishing a whole lot more. Thanks for those that have called and see you all soon on the water. Just getting little nervous just ready to get it done and over with.

Good luck Scott! I had my right hip done at 46 and it's been great, you will be glad you had it done! I go in the Friday after 19th you for a full spinal fusion (T12 through S1) pm me and we can suffer together
on a note I have not had one issue with my replacement ever! And that's hunting, diving etc. Scotty.

Advice?? For what it's worth...
I would never presume to tell you what to do--just passing this along. I witnessed a 43-year-old friend experience having both hips replaced within 1 year's time. He is an avid golfer, and just HAD to get back on the course as soon as possible.
He was impatient; came back too soon, and failed to do the therapy properly. Net result: it took him much longer than it should have to fully heal, although he's fine now.
Lesson learned. Do the therapy religiously, and don't rush coming back!
