Great video. Way to keep your cool. Had a similar situation happen to me in my 20 foot center console. Lost all electric in a nasty storm (and had bilge running straight to the electric box, not to the batteries), and cracked the hull. Luckily we were only 9 miles out at that point. If the boat wouldnt have wallowed on the waves (staying over when it should have been coming back up through the wave motion) I would have sank. Way to many things I did wrong that day, but I got lucky as hell... It took a full 45 seconds to get the boat on plane. Once on plane, I tried to empty the hold, but no doing. Bilge was out, and I couldnt reach the plug.
I too check bilges all the time now to be sure there isnt any extra H20 in there.
Yall did great! Awesome video!
Great job to all!!! After watching that I started doing some research and found this article http://www.oceanmarineservices.com/w...boats_sink.htm
This was a portion of the article that really struck me. I've got 5000gph worht of pumps but with that a 6" hole 2' down would have me on the bottom FAST.
[I]If you were to consider a hole as small as 2” in diameter, the size of most fathometer transducers, 3’ below the waterline the flow rate into the boat would be136.1 gallons per minute or 7,896 gallons per hour! A boat equipped with three 2,000 gallon per hour bilge pumps would sink! I]

I think the boat owners Insurance Company should pay for the footage. You guys saved that company a lot of $$$$$$.....
Very Cool Work Under Pressure!!!!
Now thats what you call keeping your head straight during a problem!!!
Very calm and everyone working together!!
I'm glad that everything worked out ok and that everyone was safe. This is a good example of what can happen while offshore. Another good reason to have a spare bilge pump for a backup!
Heck of a video Marty. Hope the boat is back and running. Couldn't have picked a better crew to be with.
