I think that is an Ulua. My brother lives in Kaui and he has shown me pictures of the ones that they catch off the cliffs. They have about a 30' drop into 150' deep water. When they get them up to the surface they drop down a flying gaff on a rope and snag the fish in the gills and hoist it up the cliff face!

neilinov that reminds me of the night fishing on the old Inlet bridge. There were some flounder, caught back then, that would not fit in a normal size net. My pops and others would drop a Coleman lantern and a large hoop net. Success was on the dinner table the next evening. Man the flat ones were big back then

Sit down Shut up And fish
That dude is lucky he didn't pull a hook! He might have bashed his head in on the deck or better yet flew off the other side of the boat

That is 100% without a doubt a big Giant Trevally
... and one of the oceans toughest fighters. He is moving around like that becuase he is probably using every bit of 40lbs of drag on that fish. You need to almost lock down the drag and hold on becuaue Giant Trevaly's are fished near coral structures and will generally break off it you doont put that type of pressure on them
