There's been a few off longliners. I'm in Wilmington but get up to MHC regularly and that's all I've heard. Is it me or are people jumping off the sportfisherman.com ship? Seems like this site has changed quite a bit in tthe last handful of months, not for the better, in my opinion. If everyone has gone to another site, does anyone know where.

Even the worst years over the past ten, there have been a few fish killed by now. Seems real quite. Wonder if they'll show?

I have not yet confirmed that 1 tuna was brought into beaufort yesterday,. But I can confirm that 2 fish were hooked and one was fought for over 45 minutes by very reputable bluefin fisherman. More boats are out there today. That has been the problem. I really can't blame anyone for not going with the high fuel prices and slow start to season. but it is hard to locate fish when only 3 or 4 boats fishing. Yesterday I only know of 5 boat fishing. If the one landed is true that means that 3 out of 5 boats had a bite. Hopefully I will have more and better news this afternoon. Only time will tell.

Thanks Joe- and yes the traffic has slowed down quite a bit on this site. I am not knocking this site by any stretch, but some people leaving, some people being total d-bags and a few other odds and ends have really dropped things off. really ashame. I still try to check in like I used to, but there nver seems to be much going on. I will say that John and the crew continue to provide great coverage of tournaments and this is still one of the few places to get reports from the whole east coast and some international spots.

I wonder how much facebook has hurt things here? I know that I get reports from alot of members and former members of this site direct on FB. Just like internet was the death of CD's and Print media, could social media be the death of Websites like this?

Back to the topic at hand- lets hope the GBFT show up in force for the guys down there. We decided to put the Last Call on the hard for the winter, fuel and slow fishing over the past 2 winters are defintiely the reason. Hope to go down again someday.

What is really amazing is how many are getting reported in the parking lot and on the cell phone up here. I talked to a buddy of mine who said that 3 came in yesterday and 5 came in today (all MHC fish). My dad got a phone call that told him close to the same thing.

For the sake of the guys fishing i hope they are catching them. I will believe it when someone in MHC confirms it (ie Capt. Joe Shute) or when I see pics of fish hanging at Homer Smiths or Town Creek or wherever. Ihave now heard a report and seen a pic of the Gulfstream's fish- it exists.
