Had a capt. for hire trip with some local guys today and it went pretty good. The weather was a little stronger than we thought, but it wasn't too bad. Phil and his sons' friends in town for his wedding wanted some groupers. I told him to get as many guys possible and let's go for it. We left the inlet at 8:00 and were back by 11:00. Our first stop was about 6 miles out of Wrightsville and they were chewing hard. We drifted due to the swell and we had our limit of 5 fish on the second drift. After that, we switched to smaller baits and smaller hooks for BSB's and just caught more grouper. Gotta love the sudden rebound those "ENDANGERED" gag groupers have made in such a short time.

Way to go Capt. John. Those endangered fish eat better than the non-endangered fish do. Had some tonight done on the grill and the family loved them. Nice report and pics. Thanks

It's ok to post...
7 replies and 103 views is pitiful for this. Fella caught a limit in 30 minutes. Geoff post crow recipes and gets 50 replies in 400 views...Merry freakin Christmas people! At least he is fishing for real instead of feral pussy hunting(which was entirely too fun and way too many people got sucked into it)this man is ACTUALLY FISHING!
