I have a question for you pros out there. How do you gaff a 80 lbs tuna? Are you putting the gaff over him and pulling toward you or under him? What size gaff do you use? When is it time for the iron or flyier? I guess this will get it started.

On our boat i keep a 3 and a 4 in bite gaff on the boat the 3 is a real short aftco that usally hits everything. for cobia or somthing i really want to inflict pain to i use the 4 in. i usally gaff from over and in the head of the throat. The gaff gets used untill it gets really big like sharks or BIG tuna 300+ then we break out the poon.
