gaffing question...

I try for the head but at least try to stay forward of center easier to control fish and with dolphin I just sling um if there bout 10 #s or less and gaff the big ones but always go straight to the box either way

gaffing fish is like hurry up and wait.

dont foolishly stick a gaff in a big fish that is gonna end up hurting you, someone else, or start breaking equipment

put it in its head and its a done deal.

never stuck a wahoo so i cant attest to that, long slender body fish are tougher than tuna, and mahi are the worst, i like a really thin diameter hook with a modertate gape for the mahis.
