anyone ever tried gettin out and goin up on the tower? not sure if i'd trust that rusty spiral staircase or not but...

i'd like to get the keys to the front door and take a bunch of food and beer out there one weekend. i wonder if they got tv and internet up in there? kitchen? someone needs to buy it and turn it into a motel room.

They've tried but the state won't sell it. Instead they are going to spend 2 million of our taxpayer money to blow it up.

Yeah, I dont get it, why dont they just let it deterorate on its own. Last time I fished there, it looked like it could fall under its own weight. You know 99% of all boats that fish know its location so its not a navigation hazard. No, the politicians would rather blow it and spend the tax payers money.

A friend of my Dad's was the mechanical contractor that rigged the tower when they built it. He said it is huge inside and used to house like 20 people. had a pool table and everything-

I thought they decided not to take it down and to just leave it. Have plans changed?

Thats pretty wild, im glad shes still standing and hopefully will stay up. I hated and still hate the idea of them tearing it down

I think it's still in the plan they just posponed it- Not real sure though. There are a couple of people on this site that know a lot more about what's going on with it than I do. Maybe someone will chime in.
