Friday the 13th, NOT too Good.
I had the unfortunate circumstance to need the Coast Guard Friday out of Bogue. We were at the 45 Min Rock and I slipped and fell in my boat and severely broke my leg. My wife was with me and had driven the boat quite a bit but never came through the inlet on her own. We called the Coast Guard at Swansboro and they were there in what seemed like only 5 minutes. Another fisherman responded as well, THANKS whomever that was, I could not see a name on the skiff, but I appreciate it guys. The CG put two guys on my boat, Jim and I'm sorry I did not catch the other fellers name. They did a great job stabilizing my leg and checking vitals. My wife drove the boat and she did great as well. It sure was nice having the support of the CG and I greatly appreciate the fine job these guys and all our service men do for us everyday. For those that know me, it was my bad leg, broke in the same spot as before. It was bent at 45 degrees backward half way between my knee and angle. It weren't no fun.

thanks guys, sure hate to miss the summer fishing, hope to be well enough come stick and string season. The year that I fell 60 ft out of that tree with the coon, I tore the ligiments out of my knee on this same leg. That was Sat. night and the emergency room intern just wrapped it in a ace bandage and sent me packing. Said go see a real doc Monday. Well there was this 3D archery tourney Sunday I was scheduled to shoot in. I could not stand up so they let me shoot sitting in a lawn chair. I won that shoot, so don't count me out till I'm cold and stiff.

If Ignorance is bliss, Why aren't more people happy?
I'm glad that you made it back without issue. I hate the thought of having to wear a cast in the heat - But maybe you can get a fiberglass one and still be able to fish

My prayers are with you weekender. It sounds like you won't let it slow you down much, though. Guys, this is the type of man we should all strive to be. Living life to the fullest, with an endless pursuit of his passions.
