I still remember this day like it was yesterday. Cold crisp October morning. Capt Brian waiting silently on the bridge like a predator and Marty telling us to treat the boat like our momma's house after the safety meeting of course.

Little did I know that everything I knew about offshore fishing up to this trip would go right out the window when I stepped on the boat. From that moment on I felt like a brand new sponge soaking up everything I could about offshore fishing and I made some great new friends along the way.

I have never throroughly wrung out the sponge to this day. But I do on occasion squeeze out the things that are second nature now to make room for future knowledge.
