rode on a few, got to go "turf'n" in Djibouti (horn of Africa), low level high speed "yanking and banking" best roller coaster ride of my life and yes I lost my lunch

Incredible pilots and capability. If you can fit in the back she will take off!
Two 50 Cals each side that door gunners man. Every third round is a tracer and they have to "walk" the rounds to the target due to the rotor wash. We had Marines on the ground in Djibouti and they liked to cook out verses the chowhall, I heard a few gazelles fell victum to training exercises and were put on the BBQ

The rotor wash is unbelievable but after 10 months on the ship you got used to finding something to grab onto when one came in. On the way home we picked up some reporters off of Bermuda. One of the Cameramen were on the deck filming a 53 coming in, he was standing right in front of the tower. Sure enough the rotor wash pushed him over, camera flew and slammed into the ships tower. Cameraman was ok, camera didn't make it.

Definately a work horse that truely is bad azz
