Glad to see your alive and well Frank.
SAYING HEY, FRANK...
Never seen anything like it!! I live in New Bern now but grew up in Pamlico and all my folks still there. My father in law stayed at his fish farm in Lowland and had 4' plus in his warehouse with a breach of the dykes that had never been breached. Everywhere was a good 1.5' to 2' higher than Isabel a few years ago. Surge coming onto Goose Creek Island sounded mighty powerful in the way it demolished anything in it's path. Folks sitting in the highway with their families Sunday morning eating breakfast because it was the only dry piece of land they could find. More than one person caught boats as they floated by and got them running enough to find dryer land or get to one of the big shrimp boats. Not a single house without the carpet ripped out! Everybody seems ok, material losses will certainly fade with time.
glad to know you made it through Frank. I have seen some pictures and it is not good. All the best my friend.
To find someone worse off than you. While we have damage and inconvience, there are so many more that have it way worse. Haven't been able to get out much yet myself, just pics from the TV. Places in Jersey and up North look bad too. I hear so many people comment "it's only a Cat1", we get loads of damage from them. It's all about where they hit and how fast they are moving. I've asked those folk's many times, "when's the last time you've been in a sustained 100mph wind"? Mother Nature still rule's!
On a side note, please help folk's where or as you can, they really need it. Frank
Glad to see you're ok Frank. I know ya'll have A long clean up ahead.
What a ugly storm. Like any unwanted guest, it just did not know when to leave. Glad you made it through OK. Glad the Wild Card came through without a scratch--isn't it about time to splash her?
Good to hear everyone up in or near "the county", (Shay, Frank and all) made it through ok!
