down in tobago and barbados they catch them by the bin loads
what they do is drift with pangas with nets and tied to the nets are coconut branches and the flying fish come to spawn on the branches and get entangled in the nets easy as that they catch a few hundred pounds a day on a good day.
they work awesome for bait when cared for properly pre rigging they last alot longer than ballyhoo we use them for switch baits and troll some all day for meat fish
i will dig up some pics of the set up they use we buy bait from them at sea and you can see the nets etc
