Fishing w/dad on Fathers Day

We set out at sunrise in the little boat in search of some yellowfin. A 2' sea every 3 seconds made for a very slow ride. After an hour of up and down, I started to not feel very good. When I told dad that I wasn't feel very good, he backed down the throttle to 6.5 kts and put a 3 line spread out. He said 80' isn't the best place to start, but crazier things have been known to happen. We continued trolling to deeper water and when we got to 100', we hooked this peanut on the way back.





It was slow for a while, but when we found a good patch of water in 120' things got crazy. We went through big packs of ballyhoo convincing a dozen dolphin to come home with us. I got to fight most all the fish, gaff my first dolphin, and learned the importance of getting them in the box quickly.





This one got me good.



No tuna, but a most excellent day on the water with my dad.

Awesome report Liltuna! Seems like a few people drove over the Mahi looking for them. I guess turning the same color as them did the trick. Pretty Work.
