I'm not talking about the fact that they don't float, but I'm beginning to think there is some special gravity issue with fishing rods.
Why is it that when somebody is baiting up, unhooking a fish or fixing their rig the fishing rod becomes magnetically drawn to the deck? My old man used to go bonkers when I put a rod on the deck, and now I'm starting to snap at other people too. There's a dozen rod holders on the boat and nobody can fight the attraction so it doesn't get stepped on and broken? I could have saved a bunch of $$$ by not buying rod holders if nobody's going to use them.
I'm also beginning to conclude that this special gravity not only pulls rods to the deck, but that they have their own gravitational fields as well, specifically the tips. Unless I'm fishing by myself, inevitably everybody else's fishing rod tip ends up right next to mine. I understand that there's going to be a preferred side of the boat to fish on, but why do all the rods end up pointed into one corner? Then eventually I get fed up and move to another corner, but ten mintes later..... yep, they have the entire f%!#ing boat to fish from, but nobody can resist the pull.
This is one of the little things that is starting to drive me nuts. Is it just me and the stooges I fish with, or does everybody's boat have an Einstein's Theory Of General Relativity issue with fishing rods?
