A "fishing not catching report."
I suppose that if I take such delight in posting pics of catches, then I should also post when not so much occurred. Yesterday was just one of those days. We went out 45 miles, hit some amazing bottom spots, and just couldn't ever make the bite happen. I was "relieved" of my snapper rod for most of the day by my wife who managed to catch a nice 24" keeper snap (one of 3) on my rod... plus a shark, which she is quite happy about, and a kingfish.
Total catch was a 10# mahi on the flat line (only 20 miles out) 3 keeper snapper, an AJ, and king. I took my uncle out and sent him down one of our only live baits (just couldn't find ANY.) and he got him self pinned to the rail for a while before the fish finally had enough and cut him off. I spent most of the day jigging (as both my bottom rods were confiscated). Fun day, but it was slow and hot as hell... thank God the boat cruises at 48 knots. My wife with "her new rod and reel."

If Ignorance is bliss, Why aren't more people happy?
She has a big smile with her fish... Rule No 1 - When Mamma's happy, everyone's happy...
At least you got out.

I think Admin is going to let me have this space
Congrats to Mrs Jared on a very nice snap and to you Mr Jared on a lovely mate.
The box may not fill up every trip, but as long as the smiles are there the rest is just icing on the cake.
