Fishing info for Mesic, NC.....

My buddy got a a freebie house with a dock, but before he commits us, we both would like to have some info on fishing that area...........

Never been there, can someone tell me what the fishing is like in & around that area? Or local creek & river names to search for? Need a local tackle store to visit. Thanks.........ICM

ICM, Mesic is in Pamlico County. Between Bayboro and Hobucken(Goose Creek Island- split off of the mainland by the ICW) Bay River is the water border with some parts of Mesic being on Vandemere Creek(trout, drum, rock). Going out from there you can run into the ICW, Jones Bay, Pamlico Sound, Mouth of Neuse River or a short run over to the Pamlico River. Lots of different opportunities depending on time of year.

Crazy Eyes........what could I expect later in the year, or what the best time to fish for those Bull Red Drum?....What's a good local tackle store, where the staff fish on a regular basis?.........Thanks.............ICM

ICM, to get at the height of the old drum fishery your best bet would be sometime in late August through September. Roy's Marine is the closest tackle shop. A couple of experienced fishermen in there. PM me when you get closer to heading this way and I'll be glad to offer any help I can.

A lot more spotty and vary greatly on the time and location. Sounds like you might want to fish sometime in early to mid August so you can hopefully Tarpon fish during the day and drum fish into the evening. Good luck on the poon's.
