    FISHIN DAY'S WAHOO CHALLENGE REPORT

Thursday just wasn't our day, beautiful weather calm sea. We had plenty of bites just not the target species. Black fins and peanuts were mauling our baits but we did manage a little meat for our party, a king, black fin and a small gaffer. We heard Marty had lost one at the gaff and were rooting him on to get another and he did get one for the scales, right on bud.
Day 2, wind switches to SW and a little more soupy than the day before, reminded me of BFT fishing. The slop pushed us a little farther up the beach than the day before but we opted for a better ride. Half hour into the troll the shallow planer with a horse bally gets the call. We get Jack Tim's youngest on the rod and stick a 22lber. About a half hour later the rt long comes down, stays tight for a few seconds then gone. We had a dog play with us for a bit but just couldn't get him to eat. About noon we pull into a wind row and the shallow planer gets hammered. We get Christopher, Tim's oldest son on the rod he puts the heat to him and a 34 lb'er gets a ride to the scales. Christopher has a great season, 1st place Jr angler in the Marlin Club, 7th place in the Barta and 1st place Wahoo challenge, WTG Christopher.
I am so ready to get started with the BFT's and they are here.
