"FISHIN DAYS" IS IN RITCHIES HANDS NOW!

Wellllll.... we are in Wancheese and the fish have decided to chew, no worries, we have to get this done. Tim drove her up Wed and I met him at the dock with wheels, Broad Creek marina till next week then the hill. We had a chat with Ritchie to give us a game plan. Didn't take us long once he gave us a sawsall to gut her and gill her. Cut out the fish box, tackle station, ripped out the electronics and electronic boxes. Tim crawled under the helm and started tracing wires, ripping them out and labeling wires. Between him on the bridge and me in the bilge we filled a 50 gal trash can with wires that went nowhere. Seems that when they rewired the boat they just left the old wires and ran new ones, you can imagine how much fun that was, and they used old house wire with house breaker panels, OH BOY! I think we have removed 50 lbs of just copper. If you haven't met Ritchie he is a hoot. He came on-board today and started walking around. I am following and listening, he says, " These rear windows got to go, easy day, I'll put Jose on it." You need a real hatch in the deck, done deal." "The over hang is too short, folks getting wet and no shade, you guys knock off the face we'll extend it and make it right." "New fish box and tackle station, bench seat and ladder to the bridge." Okey doke! Now the salon. "These windows suck, we need to round them out and make her look right." I'm listening! "I got some Corian counter top that would look great in here and I will have my carpenter build in your 2 drawer fridge." We had most of the head done, shower stall, elactra san unit and teak and holly floor but we need cabinets. "I'll get my cabinet guy to look at this and tighten it up, looks great what you did with the space, I like the set up." Now to the fwd stateroom. It was full of scrap wood and tools. I thought he was freaking out. "Get all this stuff out of here." I've got 2 carpenters that live for this kinda stuff, they will have a ball in here." We want 2 bunks, have to install an AC unit, closet, drawers and maximize the space. "I am sending MY, "A", team on Monday, this is all easy stuff, and they are going to have fun with this one. Looks like Ritchie has things under control, what are Tim and I going to do. Welllllll...... we had to pull the GENSET to have it rebuilt, Tim loves to grind and paint, so he is in charge of that and there is going to be a lot of that. Chip, Electricity 40 and Roger Mayo, Fowl Hooked and going to install the new BOAT BREAKER panel and I am going to be a Bilge Rat, tracing more wires, running new, checking through hulls and stop cocks. I love this old girl, been on her for 2 months and know her better than my first wife, I just have to share her with Tim, no worries she'll be good to both of us. The good thing is not a lot of rot, for a 40 yr old boat that is pretty good. Stay tuned, we are up during the week and back on the weekends will keep you posted on progress. GOD THE NEW CANYON RUNNER IS A BEAUTIFUL BOAT!!!!!Mark will see you back up there next week.

Sounds like that worklist got a bit longer since we talked about it! I can't wait to see the finished product, she is gonna be one nice rig. Just don't F*&^ Up the marlin mojo she's got goin on!!!
