Fishin Days - Ask & You Shall Receive

Rick already gave a pretty good play-by-play on the fish. What a fun day on the water!

I was driving down to MHC Friday and the nice weather and limp flags got to me, so I strolled over to the Fishin Days and met Capt Tim. I asked if he had room for Garrett & i to fish on Sat and he said it was on. I told him there was no need to put meat in the box, Garrett wanted to go marlin fishin (well, so did I).

We ran north at the crack of dawn and and we started in meat land (we thought) headed toward the deep. Didn't take long for the hit, and after we got Garrett in the chair Caot Tim yelled he saw the bill. The fish was confirmed by the ever thinning spool of line, we were well into the backing before we got lines cleared. Backin-down we go, I couldn't tell if we were black-smokin, the pipes were too far under the surface.

Notice the difference? He wasn't gonna let this fish beat him. He got into a pretty good rhythm pumpin on the fish when she sounded. It was give & take for a while, but he kept at it and started making progress.

After Garrett put the beat-down on her, Rick was putting the finishing touches on her and Garrett looked over to check out his work. I think he said "prett work, huh?"

What a way to start off the year. His sister's white has been grating on him for a while, now he's the man and lettin everyone know it.

I can't thank Capt Tim & Rick enough for the great time. Capt Tim said we were going huntin the big girl and damn if he didn't deliver. He didn't even give us time to question him, 20 minutes into the day and it was on. Can't ask for much more than that! See you guys when you get out of the yard.
