Fishin Days 7-12 report
Scrapped plans to fish the little boat and joined the Fishin Days guys for some fish killn today, we didn't kill alot of fish but time we did. Fished with E40, Zack of Brake Marine in MHC and some more guys. Rather rough seas on the ride out but the ole girl schrugged the swells off and got us there, great riding boat. Set out around the BR and worked the Rock, slow to start then the planer did it's thing, small king around 10lb. A couple bite offs, then another king, finally a good 25lb. Hoo in the box. Slow all day a bite off here and there, big mystery fish hit mid afternoon and in the chair Zack went. Fish turned on the afterburners and started peeling a 70Wide down and showed no signs of slowing down. But the bugger pulled off, monster hoo or blue suit?? we'll never know!!
. Tim snagged a slinger on the WWB and that was it.Got some more rigging education watching the "Block" in action, man is on top of his game!!! Can't forget Tim on the wheel, he tried to find the fish but they were few and far between, but we didn't get skunked! Fished with a bunch of good guys on a great boat, I tried out the floor, bunks and couch they all sleep very nicely. We'll get them next time guys, 1 Hoo, 2 Kings and 1 Slinger Mahi. Congrats to the Sea Witch with a Sail release nice work guys! Foul Hook'd Last edited by Foul Hook'd; 07-12-2008 at 10:03 PM. |

Thanks for the report there Roger. Sure was a slow day but it was great to be back on the water with good folks. I think the best catch of the day was 4 flip flops and a king. Most boats only had one or two fish. Couldn't find good water all day, green blended 77 degr, yuck.

Well, The fish do get to win once in a while!
Still beats being grounded and having to work. I guess summer time trawling is back, you never know what it will be like till you are out there... Good luck for the next trip. MM |

Nice job on the fish guys. I know it was nice to open her up after you cleared the no wake zone. Keep at it and good luck in the Barta.
