Me and my cousin got into to a school of the ladyfish down in everglades city two weekends ago just off the river in the mangroves, we caught about twenty of them with live shrimp. They were a blast with the light tackle we were using, fast and good fighters. We also caught 9 nice mangrove snappers, and tom caught a 23 inch snook. WE released all them unharmed for another to enjoy.

Ladyfish?
geez they closely resemble what we called a Smelt! they are kinda bigger tho. i just ate (light fried in olive oil after de-head & de-gut and tossed in corn flower) a bucket of them fresh caught in maine. yummmmm.
