    Talking Fish ID Help

Fished on the Trolldoll out of Hi on Sat. Caught 5 nice gaffers and then decided to do some bottom fishing. Filled the other fishbox with nice seabass, vermillion snappers, and our first grouper. We fished a nice drop from 200'-170 New depthfinder kicks arse. Furuno 585. You can see a Flounder fart at 50 fathoms. I'm prety sure the first pic is a speckled hind, but I'm not sure of the second pic. Warsaw is my first guess. Now lets see if I can do the picture thing. Oops I posted them in the wrong order.

    Tight Lines,

    Butch

While I'm at it this Jack doesn't look like an Amberjack. Its head looks funny. All the AJ's I've caught in the past have a rounded head. We also caught some smaller jacks but I have no pics. They were about 3-5lbs. Any ideas?

Yes its a kitty mitchell, the other may be a juvenile warsaw or a phase of snowy. The Jack is an almaco...

Thanks fellas. After doing some searching on the net I'm sure its a warsaw. The fish was solid black and then within minutes it had spots. Reelfool I'll tell my buddy you say he is ugly. Kinda has a tog mouth or maybe a sheepshead. I'm the ugly guy with th jack.

    Thumbs up

Great pictures from the Lake Atlantic!!!

As was stated before they look like the following to me.
    1. Subadult (female) Warsaw
    2. Speckled Hind or Kitty Mitchell
    3. Small Amberjack. Tons of them out of Hatteras. It is a pain in the ass when you get 2 or 3 of them on at the same time when dropping on the rocks in 50-60fthms. Were you down around the 000 for the grouper? Seems like we catch more grouper closer to the 000 and below. More seabass and tilefish from 280 and above. Going to try to do some of the 100 fthms and deeper stuff next week.
