    1. Is this a good time for tuna, marlin ect
    2. What is the weather doing that time of year
    3. What is the average run out

April is good for Tuna... later april may produce some Marlin

Weather should be OK, but who the heck knows what the weather is going to do now adays

Run out is 1-1/2 to 2 hours... not sure how fast you go.

Tuna & Dolphin should be around in good numbers

    Good Luck & Tight Lines

There should be plenty to catch if you hit the weather right. I would suggest you charter early in your trip to get a first rate lesson on how to fish the area. It will be well worth the price. There are a number of good charters in Hatteras. Capt Jay on the Bite Me out of Hatteras Harbour is a good choice - he hangs around here sometimes as well.

    Good luck with your trip.

April is a great time to fish Hatteras. Tuna, Wahoo and some Dolphin action for sure. Mind your channel markers. The weather can be rough, just pick your days. It's one of my favorite places.

Let me know if you need recommendations for anything, be glad to help.

Tuna bite usually gets cranked up in March and April can be real good. Tuna start to slow down in May but the dolphin and wahoo take their place and the bills start to show, although I have caught blue marlin as early as March. Weather can be very unpredictable and rough as hell in March and April, welcome to Hatteras. Usually run about 20 to 25 miles and drop 'em in the water.

Do what I do this is a proven fish catch. Wait for wahoo to hit the local star bucks in the am. Ran sack his truck for an clues to what the tuners might be hitting. Then after all that sit and wait at the end of his dock. When they pull the boat away just follow him. He always catches the fish. Other than that good luck.

Spring and early summer in Hatteras is my favorite place in the world! I'll be there whenever the weather looks good from mid March until early May.

You can expect anything from being covered up by yellowfin, to and all out dolphin frenzy, to an early billfish bite. April is hit or miss weather wise so just keep your fingers crossed and do whatever it takes to please the "weather gods"

P.S. Don't hold yor breath looking for a starbucks, or any other franchise type retail for that matter.
