    First Fathers Day...

    Happy Father's Day to all of you fathers!

    Well, since Stacy and I got married last week, this is my first Father's Day. Granted the girls aren't "my own", I certainly love them just the same. It's a really awesome feeling!

    The girls are with the father until lunch time and then I get them! Nothing big planned, just going to relax and enjoy the day.

    What about the rest of you Dads, what exciting, fun filled ways are you spending your Father's Day?!

    Mine 1st to, but sitting in the hospital at Hopkins today. 81 days straight since my twins were born. Daughter just had open heart surgery last week, son recovered from a rare intestinal infection a few weeks ago. He's finally home, but my daughter only made it back home for 2 days and we had to bring her back due to some bloody stools. Its been a crazy ride.

    Savor the moments... I have had the career path that for all but one of the last 16 fathers days has had me 1200 miles removed from my little Bug. Yeah I get the call and the card but its just not the same. They grow so fast. Kind of like the "Cat's in the cradle song" except mines a girl. "Can you sit for a while" "What I'd really like Dad is to borrow the car keys... See you later can I have them please..."

    You know... people used to tell me "savor the moment" and I used to think... shit.. I am in HELL with this... (single, working mom of three boys for most of their young lives)... and I hated to hear that... but as cliche as it sounds... it's SO TRUE...!!!

    Please DO savor the moment...!!!

    (have you ever noticed that things that sounded so cliche at the time... turn out to be SO TRUE...!!! that bugs me... !!! LOL)
