Finnally a Solution for Flat, Ratty Looking Islander's,

As much as Islander's cost and considering how many I have. I like to have all of them pre rigged with hook's and leader's, on board, so that they are ready to bait with ballyhoo or strip bait. I have been racking my brain on how to keep them in good pulling shape while storing them in a tackle bag, aboard a smaller sized boat (25ft c/c). This is simple and it work's. Get some 1 1/8 ribbed bilge pump hose, it has rings every foot or so. Cut about 1/4 inch above the rib's on the flat ring. Then cut it in half in the rib section. Coil your leader up as normal, feed it up through the bilge pump hoes and slide the hose over the Islander. The rib's give you enough support so that they don't get crushed and loose their shape.
I had some that I was really frustrated with, was prepared to replace them. Got (stole) some of my wife hair conditioner, mixed it with hot water. Soaked the questionable lure's in it, for a while. Hung the up in the nice warm Carolina breeze, brushed them out and stuffed em' in the tubes. Guess I won't be buying any new one's for awhile now.
Once again Country Boy logic prevail's, I love it when a plan comes together. Frank,SeaPower
