Finally got him

My buddies took our boat to the outer banks for a much needed vacation, so I talked to them Monday to see if they were fishing Tuesday, they said yes and I hit the road. We fished out of Oregon inlet, nice ride out and I was excited as hell with all the billfish talk going on around there, but we thought we would get rigged up for some meat fish first then maybe some billfish action. Put the lines in and it wasn't long and the left long starts screaming, it was no meat fish, we can see it's a blue one, we scramble and get the cockpit ready for the fight and the crew hands me the rod knowing how bad I've wanted this day to come. He put on a nice aireal display, it was a quick fight ,and a just like that I watch him disappear. High fives go around the cockpit and we get back to work, I was so pumped I could barely contain myself.My man Mike(goin deep) did an excellent job on the leader, and in BOX fashion I was the one to cut the leader. Urztie was like an old salt at the helm, keepin the fish right where I needed it to be, and a thanks to Jeff for his selfishless act of handing me the rod. Not long after that the left short goes off and we were hooked again on a much larger blue, we fought the fish for 40 minutes or so when the line went slack and we soon found out he had cut himself loose. The rest of the day we had our chance at one more blue one and 5 whites which none ever materialized. What a great experience that day was and the lessons I learned will not be forgotten anytime soon. A special thanks to all the guys on here that are "in the know" and have shared their tips and techniques with fishermen like myself, I know I wouldn't have had the limited knowledge I have now without this site.
