Fiji Panga Wahoo's

Hey guys and gals, here is my third rendition

This was a trip to Fiji a quite a few years back with my girlfriend...Now Wife

The weather sucked 80% of the trip, but we caught YFT and Wahoo 1/2 mile from the beach

Oh yeah, and we hung out with a cool bunch of Aussie's and drank Kava which is from a potatoe like root washed in coconut strings and water.....your lips go numb and you think it isn't doing anything to you because you don't feel drunk....then all of the sudden your "out there"...

Highlight for me was my "now wife" catching a 49lb Wahoo in a Panga in 40mph winds with rain squalls on a Penn 310GTI She's the Bomb...

The bald guy in the video is a guy named Todd who was from Philadelphia and owned a coffee company...can't remember his last name, but he was a really cool guy learning how to surf...and catch fish in Fiji and was there for 3 months

Hey Squid,

It's their tradition. Interestingly only the guys took place in the ceremony, no girls? You clean and wash the kava and sing songs while it is being cleaned and then after a song or two (about 5-10minutes) they stop singing and pass around the bowl to everyone in the ceremony. So you do drink it all down, I guess it's like doing a giant shot of dirty water every 10 minutes. There is definately somthing in it that makes you a little loopy The weather was really bad a majority of the trip and so all the guys from the village would get together every night and do the Kava ceremony and sing for us...they genuinely wanted us to feel a part of the village.....Very cool people
