Well didn't plan on going fishing but I just had the itch! Went down to the camp Saturday and watch the Texas vs Texas Tech game and what a game it was. Managed to do some odds and ends things around the camp. Sunday we had the time change and woke up about 6:30 which is way late for us but it was kind of chilly. Usually you can wait for the sun to crest and once the water warm the fish start a biting. So we got to our spot 7:45 and the bait was jumping and I knew it was just a matter of time. Cast after cast it was trout central with a few reds mixed in.The Fish hit the tsunami minnow just as fast as the live shrimp I was using. Here is what we ended up with: 45 trout 3 keeper reds a flounder and a freshwater cat. Kind of tells you how close we are fishing to the MRGO. Til next time tight lines to all.

I would say May-July. That's the time I like to fish for the big trout at the barrier islands on top. Real early in the morning and evening bites are the best. I know Lee likes the mirrorlures but I am partial to the Rapala skitterwalk's.
