FANTABULOUS - Not just a school....an event!

What a weekend! The WAHOONBOX Rigging School was all that I expected and much much more. 2 outstanding days of knowledge sharing and hands on offshore nitty-gritty from 2 seasoned professionals that LOVE what they do. Add to that a bonus SFC gathering on day three and I have to consider this an event rather than just a class.

Many of my classmates…no…change that….Many of my new fraternity brothers (Beta Theta Chi or BOX) have already posted how incredible this class was. I personally walked away with 37 pages of notes that I was able to scribble down in between all of the hands on work we were doing. The basics were reviewed, the advanced stuff was taught and the secrets were shared. There truly was something for everyone.

Now for the stuff that ain’t in the brochure. Our class included:
· Numerous meaningful stories from instructors and students alike.
· A chance to spend time with and learn from a quality bunch of people who share a passion for offshore fishing.
· Field trips to exotic local establishments.
· Door prizes and giveaways.
· A chance to sharpen our poker skills.
· More dead animals in one room than you could shake a stick at.
· Ode d’ballyhoo air freshener.
· History lesson of wanted criminals of the wild wild west.
· Motorized cooler races.
· Grilled dogs and fresh donuts – yummy.
· First-Aid 102 – K-9 bites.
· And so much more……

As with any 'event', a lot went into putting this thing together. A BIG thank you to POON MAN and Offshore Innovations for the AWSOME door prizes. Also, thank to Keith over at Alltackle.com for sticking around late and letting us check out the goods. Thanks for the tees too.

Thanks to t bird for being a world-class host and to Capt-D for joining us, helping out, and providing goodies on day 2. Finrazr, jbones, and Reel Jule it was a pleasure and an honor – I look forward to crossing paths in the future. Sea Dog – thanks for the sausage biscuits and for exposing the dangers of cujo. Thanks to GW273 and Pro for making the trip down to round out the weekend. Sincere thanks to Pitch Bait for taking the time to make sure each one of us was getting it right. Your knowledge and skills are enviable and I am very glad to have met you.

Thank you Marty for bringing the show on the road and sharing YOUR WORLD with all of us. Here’s to learning something new everyday and to putting more meatndabox!

Paul’s neglecting to mention the “CRAB BOMBS”
These were GIANT back fin crab cakes he brought
on day one. Man they were GREAT!!!!

I think what’s most impressive about the rigging,
Marty, Bobby, and everyone that attended,
Is that expectations WERE EXCEEDED at every
opportunity.
It was an event.
