    Fall Boat Cleaning Help

Hey guys, as some of you know I recently bought a 21 CC Wellcraft this summer. I have the boat back in Greensboro and just got though getting it winterized and now am moving on to the waxing and cleaning stages. The hull is a 92 and I need to know what type of cleaners, polishes etc I should use to bring the boat back to a decent shine. I have already thoroughly cleaned the hull and deck but dont know what I should do next as far as compounds or polishes and wax, brands and such. I heard Collinite was the best wax but before I wax should I polish and compound or just polish and wax. The hull sides are black so I know if I do this right I can get a great shine. Thanks Jay

I have had great results with good ole fashioned Turtle green paste wax.
3 coats everywhere except the non skid and the metal work. These areas get woody wax. I also wax my fishboxes. Makes clean up a snap!

Try Woody Wax -- good all-purpose -- use it on the deck, t-top, chrome..etc

So do you guys think all I need to do is wax or should I polish as well. I really need something to bring out that shine in the fiberglass.

I am right in the middle of compounding a 37ft berty right now... I am using the 3m compound with a wheel and then the colinite paste wax ... the boat was starting to oxidize and it is bringing her back to a beautiful shine... the only thing is the boat I am working on is a white and I have noticed on some boats that if you use a course compound on colored hulls it tends to make them appear thin... so maybe try a compound that is finer then the one I am using.... Colinite also makes a pre wax cleaner that works great on some of the black areas of the boat like the stripes...

Use the Collinite 920 Fiberglass Cleaner now, shrink wrap the boat and then wax it with the Collinite wax in the spring. Also use the Rupp Alumigaurd on all of your metal now.

I just used Woody Wax and the sealant on my outriggers and rocket launchers....let me tell you....that stuff is the best ...easy on....easy off....only drawback....it's pricey at $45 for a 16 oz bottle of the "wax" and an 8 oz bottle of the sealant.

    Woody Wax

Just got through waxing the t-top and rails on my boat with Woody Wax and am amazed at how good of a product this stuff is. I ordered two bottles Mon afternoon and they were at my house in Greensboro Wed. am. This is a great company with great support and I highly reccommend you guys checking them out if you haven't already. Now I move on to the hull and non-skid this weekend. Anyone that wants to help just give me a ring. JK
