Elk tries to wash off arrow...

A friend of mine sent me this link... Leave it too the texans. Great footage of an elk hunt. This guys must have been breathin hard hoping he didn't get busted with all those cows watchin him...

I had the same thoughts too marty... We don't shoot em when thier swimmin.... But hey, its Texas... They hunt turkeys with thier deer rifles....

Here in Pa. It is illegal to kill if it is taking refuge in water also.

I was always taught that you shouldn't even shoot at one if it's near the water, pond or lake that is.

I always figured if the deer was in water below the knee joint it is leagal. I love to hunt swamps and have shot a few deer in water, kinda hard to not be in water in a swamp. If a deer is chest deep it is too risky and I am sure against the law. As far as I can tell the elk was only in 12-18 inches of water when stuck. Seems ethical to me. Just sucks it died in deeper water for the guys that had to get him out.

After further review.....The first shot was questionable but the second was no problem in my book.
