I think that agents and mates should make as much as they can this is The United Capitilast States Of America. My complaint with the tipping thing was its a tip its not written down anywhere that you should get that much. If it is in the brokered deal between the customer and the captain or brokeringagent for the charter , Then hell yes you should be mighty pissed off. If its not why not? Honestly I think the mates are getting screwed you should be getting more up front as part of the charter costs not having to rely on the "tip" for your wages. To me and a lot of people 400 bones for a tip is alot of cash but if say half of that is in the price of the charter, 200 bucks is pretty easy to swallow. Remeber the big difference is with a Realtor his fees are right up front on the contract and all the other paperwork. Ace maybe since its a service (posting the listing, showing prospective buyers, tidying up the house, and open houses, and listening to the whining "well if the kitchen were just alittle bigger maybe the seller should knock off 40g for an addition") you should start demanding 20% tip on top of the broker fee. I here a calling for a mates union I'll be president and I'll guarantee you 600 a trip plus med, dental, and vision, and two weeks in cabo every year where you can be the ones puking in the head free of charge all costs and tips covered by the union as part of your bennies. Just kidding but seriously you should make more and it shouldnt be tips.

I'm with you ace. I think real estate and life insurance agents deserve better commissions. We need to get real estate into the 10% bracket. Keep fighting brother.

What do you agents think of those who negotiate lower commission rates? We have a local Real Estate company that advertises commission rates of 4.5% or less. What do you guys in the industry think of that?
