Those were great Marty, what does a fish that size weigh when prepped for the fish house? does anyone know what the prices are at the market?
Real quick, careful cutting off the head of a fish under 81", it is actually illegal, only because when measured it may not make the pec fin minimum length and then they will take your fish...even though it is a keeper it will not measure big enough....just a word to the wise...Good Luck and have a great season![]()

What you have witness is the correct "long line" way of taking the head off. By making the second cut right behind the eye, you are getting max yeild out of the fish and not compromising the section of meat right at the top of the head.
Figure a hand width behind the eye....the buyer is going to trim it and clean it anyway, but a handwidth is a good judge....
